For Property Managers in Canada
Tenants can generate their cash payment slip with the required QR code from their own RentMoola account to bring to a convenient CanadaPost location. Alternatively, as the property manager you can generate the QR code on the tenant’s behalf and print it for them to use. To generate the QR code as a property manager:
- From your dashboard, search for the resident and click on their name to access their Resident Page.
- Under Actions click Make a Payment and select Cash.
- When you select Cash, there will be instructions to follow. Be sure to enter the amount of rent and click Save.
- Print the QR code. When you provide the printed QR code to your tenant, let them know the total amount (including service fee). This amount must be exact so your tenant can tell the clerk at CanadaPost. If the amount told is incorrect, the transaction will fail.
For Property Managers in the US
Tenants can generate their cash payment slip with the required barcode from their own RentMoola account to bring to a 7-Eleven or CVS location. Alternatively, you as the property manager can also generate the barcode on the tenant's behalf. To generate the barcode as a property manager:
- From your dashboard, search for the resident and click on their name to access their Resident Page.
- Scroll down to the Cash Payments box on the left.
- Click Email Payments Slip to automatically email a copy of the slip to the resident or click View Payment Slip.
- After clicking View You will see a list of payment locations nearby.
- Click on a location, the same barcode will be produced regardless of which location is selected but note that CVS Barcodes can only be used at CVS locations and 7-Eleven Barcodes can only be used at 7-Eleven locations - they are not interchangeable.
- You can then choose to either print the slip, or send instructions via text (mobile) or email.
This one barcode can be reused month over month. If the resident has lost their barcode please use the procedure below to quickly send them the same barcode again by email. Otherwise use the steps above to create the barcode again.
- From your dashboard, search for the resident and click on their name to access their Resident Page.
- Click on the Resident’s Name from the search list to display their Profile.
- Scroll down to the Cash Payments box on the left.
- Click Email Payment Slip.
- You have now provided the Resident with their barcode again via email.
